Regular Dance Schedule Contra dances are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at the Lewis Ginter Recreation Center. Beginners are welcome and no partner is required. A free beginners workshop is held at 7:00pm. Dance from 8:00 to 11:00pm $5 members/students $8 non members; unless noted otherwise Help us to care for our floor; please wear soft-soled shoes. |

Swallowtail Dance: May 31, 2008. Enjoy this special 5th Saturday dance with one of the premier New England contra dance bands. Cost for this dance is $9 members/students and $12 non-member June 14, Concert with Atlantic Cossing at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2508 Dickens Road, Richmond, VA 23230, 8-10pm, reception after the concert. $5 students/members, $8 nonmembers. Special Dance June 21. Tom Hinds calling with the Evil Twins. $5 for everyone. Ice cream and cake at the break to help celebrate the birthdays of Ed and Elizabeth Edmondson. There will be no dance on June 14. LGRC was booked for a wedding before our contract was completed. Instead Atlantic Crossing, the band that was booked for the dance will have a house concert. Atlanic Crossing is from Vermont and includes Viveka Fox on fiddle & bodhran, Peter Macfarlane on fiddle & low whistle, Brain Perkins on mandolin & bouzouki, and Rick Klein on guitar. The concert will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2508 Dickens Road, Richmond, VA 23230. |
