UPCOMING PUBLIC APPEARANCES:

  • Monday, August 3rd 2009 Public jazz rehearsal at West Salem Walery's Pizza, 1555 Edgewater NW., 7:00 to 9:00 PM. No charge.

  • Saturday, August 8th 2009 Dance the night away at the Salem Big Band Summer Bash. The Keizer Salem Area Senior Center has a great air conditioned dance floor. 930 Plymouth Drive, NE. Just north of the intersection of Salem Parkway and Cherry Avenue. Free dance lesson at 7:30 pm. The Salem Big Band plays from 8 to 10 pm. $10 per person. Tickets available in advance. Call the Senior Center at (503) 390-7441. All ages are welcome!

  • Thursday, August 13th 2009 Salem Big Band concert in West Salem park. Bring a folding lawn chair and a picnic basket. Free admission. 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Take the Rosemont exit off the Dallas Highway. The park is behind Safeway.

  • Friday, September 25th 2009 Dance at Mission Mill Museum, 1313 Mill St SE Salem, 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Folks of all ages are invited to waltz, fox trot, and swing the night away with the Salem Big Band at the Mission Mill Museum. $10 per person. Light snacks and beverages are available for purchase. Dance lessons start at 7:30 - free with ticket purchase! All proceeds from these dances help to fund Mission Mill Museum's education and preservation programs. Tickets may be purchased at Mission Mill Museum or by calling 503-585-7012. All tickets are non-refundable.
