This trip was well worth the drive. Great bugs, birds (and company too). Avian highlights were my life bird - Boreal Chickadee, plus several male Bay-breasted Warblers, Golden Eagle, Least and Alder Flycatchers, etc. Avian frustrations included hearing Bicknell's Thrush, Black-backed Woodpecker, Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, and Philadelphia Vireo without ever tracking them down. Also 38 odes and over 25 butterflies isn't bad at all - especially when nearly everything was new to me. A kid in a candy store to be sure.
