What we will do and when we will do it

A Typical Day

We will do trail work on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  For these work days, we will follow this schedule:

7:00 a.m. - breakfast, clean up dishes, make and pack lunch and water
8:30 a.m. - leave lodge, carpool to the trailhead
9:00 a.m. - meet at trailhead for tool safety talk, orientation to work for the day, walk to work site
12:00 p.m. - lunch (at the work site)
12:30 p.m. (or so) - back to work
3:30 p.m. - gather the tools and head back to trailhead
4:00 p.m. - trailhead, review days work, head back to lodge or to Skykomish for errands
6:30 p.m. (or so) - dinner
7:30 p.m. (or so) - special program, if there is one, or general reading, discussion, cards, jigsaw puzzles, or whatever

Evening Activities

First Saturday - Salmon dinner and welcome from the US Forest Service and Volunteers for Outdoor Washington
Friday - Socialize in Skykomish, Cleveland's spaghetti dinner back at lodge

Wednesday

Wednesday is the Volunteer Vacation off day no trail work.  Be thinking of what you might like to do on your day off.  Let us know of your ideas.  Some options include:

• hike a part of the Pacific Crest Trail to Lake Valhalla
• hike the Iron Goat Trail upper grade from Martin Creek to Wellington
• drive to Leavenworth (45 minutes away) to see the town (Leavenworth is decorated to look like a village in the Bavarian Alps and has some interesting shops and good restaurants for lunch.)
• drive into Seattle for the day
• relax at the lodge

Saturday

On the final day, we will accommodate everyones schedule as much as possible.  Breakfast will be served and lunch makings will be set out.  Sheridan will have arranged for everyone to have a ride to where they need to be.  We can get people to Seatac Airport by noon.  You may also stay in the area or leave on Sunday.  Let us know what you would like to do.
