Thursday We hit the first rest stop and saw a whole bunch of army people in their camo. It was entertaining! We got a few burgers and went to sit outside. The sun was shining and it was beautiful out. The ride down was really sunny and hot, with a few cloud spurts and a little rain shower in southern Maryland. We saw a sign for "Dumfries" in Virginia, a town in Virginia called "Dumfries"? Wonder what other strange names there are that are not near the highway! There were millions of cicadas on the highway! They were so noisy that I thought there was something wrong with the car. Rob got hit by one of the cicadas and complained about it the whole way to the hotel. He still complains about it to this day! I definately laughed at him for a few miles! We passed a car that was decorated for the convention from North Philly. I thought we were the only ones who were foolish enough to drive 5½ hours to a convention! We eventually got to our hotel, The Days Inn Chesterfield - Midlothian, by 4:30pm. The car was unloaded and hotel was all situated. We walked across the driveway to Circut City to get the adapter for the Game Cube so we could play Melee and Mario Kart. We ate some lunch and of the 5 lamps in the room, only 2 of them had lightbulbs in them. Our lamps were missing lightbulbs... how odd! We walked through the mall to the hotel where the convention was being held. 15 minute walk and the part of the hotel where the convention is being held looks really small, but that never stopped us before! After getting back to the hotel we took turns showering and watching the crap on TV. When I say crap, I mean it! They only had one episode of The Simpsons, what the hell is that shit? There were super fierece thunderstorms and some really awesome lightning bolts going on! We sat outside for at least an hour watching it. After that we went back up to the room to go to sleep. We really tried to sleep earlier than regular cons, but it happened around 3am.

Friday Rob woke me up at 7:45am after he had been up, showered and dressed. I got my Magma on and we walked to the center for the con to get in line for the registration. We walked into the hotel where the registration line was supposed to be and there was just a bunch of people milling around and not doing anything. After a few minutes of looking and asking around we found the line for the registration and I was the first person to get my badge. I felt all special cause I was the first person at a con to get their badge! Rob really liked the picture on the badge, he ranted and raved about it for a while. Since nothing was open yet, we went and sat in the lobby and read the book for the convention and looked at the stuff they were going to play in the video rooms. nothing looked appealing so we went to go get some breakfast. We went to McDonalds and they looked at us funny. Then we went back to the center and read the paper. I saw Justin and accidentally said his name when I saw him. Needless to say Rob was quite pissed all weekend because he was there. We walked around the hotel for a little while and played some Super Smash Brothers Melee, then the Dealers room. Rob bought 2 Mudkips, one for Theresa and one for Andrew, and 2 Jirachis, one for me and one for him. There wasnt much in the way of merchandise, but the important things were purchased. We walked back to the room and Rob took a nap. I went to the mall, checked my email from my phone and talked to Bedchecker while Rob slept. Rob got up and we drove to the center because we were too lazy to walk anymore. Rob wanted to play in the Mario Kart torney and I held the sign outside for the room. I was a good helper! Rob got all the way to the finals in the torney and lost to a 12 year old girl named Heather. I'll tease him about it forever! Talked to Bedchecker a few more times and tried to see when he was getting in, but I was getting tired and wanted to go back to the room. By the time we got back to the room Bedchecker called and Rob talked to him. I fell asleep and I think Rob came to bed too, Bedchecker did not come over.

Saturday Got up kinda late (10am) and got dressed. We headed to the con and walked around for a while. Tried to check for something to do, but there wasn't much of anything to do other than play Melee and go to the Dealers room. We saw Bedcheck and he's so funny! He sat and talked to us for a while. He ended up sitting around and got a massage from a girl. His friends kinda suck though. They made him go home around 9pm! That's not cool! Rob drank alone and we hit the dance. It sucked bad so we left the dance. We walked around the hotel for a while and played Melee until the Gameroom closed. Then we did a last lap around the con, but his Aunt never got there. Not that I though she would, but that's just me. We were leaving the center to go back to the hotel and I ran into Jenny and Justin outside drinking. I stopped to say hello and talk to them a bit. Rob wouldn't even come over and he just stood on the other side. Couldn't even look that direction. He really wanted to kill that boy!

Sunday It was kinda dull, we packed up and went over to the convention so we could play in the Melee torney. Their rules for the torney sucked. They had items and it was only the top person who advanced. The top person didn't have any kills in my game and just stayed at the top, same with the one in Robs game. We both came in 2nd place, but didn't move on because their rules suck. I guess we'll do better in the Otakon torney. We came home and were making really good time until the accident on I-95 in Maryland before the big long bridge after the tunnel in Baltimore. They closed down I-95 and we played in the highway! Then we came back to my house!
