A word
about Tapers...
A Taper = American Dry Fly Taper...
The "A" Taper has a lighter
tip to work in close with a strong butt to
reach out and touch someone when in need. We can further break down the action
to a medium / medium/fast or fast action by adding or subtracting cane in the
correct positions on the rod. Meaning you can have an "A" Taper with a
medium,
mid/flex action to a fast tip/flex action or both by doing a "Wet" and
"Dry" tip for the
same rod. This opens a whole new window and makes for a great
"All-Around" Rod
that will keep you on the water under real fishing conditions...

sportsmen...
B Taper = Straight Line Taper...
The "B" Taper is a straight line or progressive
taper that drops at a set dimension the
entire length of the rod, by increasing or decreasing the drop in the taper we
can cover
the medium, med/fast to fast actions. This taper is best known for it's slower
"butter smooth", medium to med/fast, butt to mid flex actions.
We can also build this
taper with the "Dry" & "Wet" tip, covering the medium to
medium fast actions that this
taper is best suited for in the same rod...
I cover this taper with my "Shadow Caster" model
that are based on Everett Garrison
tapers that are enhanced to bring out there best traits for today's
sportsmen...
C Taper = Parabolic Taper...
The "C" Taper is a full parabolic action, heavy tips
drive the stress into the flat butt
section where it is stored and released like a spring. Again we can add
or subtract cane
in the correct positions on the rod to determine the action of the rod. We
can also build this
taper with the "Dry" & "Wet" tip, covering the medium to
medium fast actions that this
taper is best suited for in the same rod...

tapers that are enhanced to bring out there best traits for today's
sportsmen...
B/C Taper = Simi Parabolic Taper...
The "B/C" Taper is a two stage action, combining the
best traits of the "B" & "C"
tapers, basically a straight line taper with a "flat" spot in the mid
and in the butt
section. This taper allows you to use the tips close in with the mid
"flat" spot acting
as the "spring" or kick in the butt "flat" spot acting like
a "spring" to reach out and
touch someone...
I cover this taper with my "Trout Bum" model that
are based on Granger

Why are your tapers based on vintage
tapers,
do you not have your own tapers...?
My philosophy on this is all modern makers are building on
vintage tapers or have
been heavy influenced by the past in one way or another, plus giving credit
where credit
is due is the right thing to do. All my custom tapers have been modified from
the originals
in one way or another and have been researched and field tested in meet the
needs of
today's sportsmen...
