Mandatory Gear

 

INDIVIDUAL - required by each team member for entire race

Water bottles/bladder with at least 2 liters total capacity
Waterproof jacket
Hat (or ear covering)
Gloves
Extra pair of socks

Watch
Whistle
Photo ID and any relevant medical information that may be needed

NEW - Thermal Shirt and tights (Equivalent)

NEW - Fleece pullover

Why the Addition??

TEAM - required by team for entire race

Passport - given out upon check-in
Map(s) - given out upon check-in

Cell Phone
1:24,000 UTM plotter
Map Case - Waterproof
Emergency foil blanket
2 Compasses
First Aid kit with:
- Sterile gauze dressing, 2" size
- Medical tape, 2" size
- Elastic wrap (ACE bandage or similar)
- Knife, with at least a 1.5" locking blade


MOUNTAIN BIKE - verified at check-in, but may be stored at transition area until needed

Personal - Mountain Bike
Personal - Bike Helmet
Personal - Replacement tube
Team - Bike repair kit:
- Bike tool
- Pump/CO2 inflating device
- Tire levers

PADDLING - verified at check-in, but may be stored at transition area until needed

Personal - Paddle (kayak paddles allowed)
Personal - PFD (Coast Guard Type III)
Team - Canoe (no racing canoes)

The Cobb YMCA will give us a deal on canoe rental. They have 11 canoes available for rent located at Camp Sandmann (2 exits from Red Top). $35, includes PFD's and paddles Aaron@ymcacobb.org
