He’s a member of the National Academy of Elder Law attorney’s of the Elder and disability law section of the New Jersey Bar Association.
Elder Law attorneys concentrate in legal problems specific to elders. The greatest threat to the average person’s accumulated wealth is the cost of a nursing home or an assisted living facility or 24 hour home care.
There are four ways long term care gets paid, they are as follows: Medicare, long term care insurance, private payment and Medicaid.
Other issues to explore and educate yourself about are the workings of Medicare, gifting rules, ineligibility periods, penalty periods as well as the authority to gift.
