Welcome to the Nik Voelz   Pottery and Ceramic Art Directory     Ceramic artists and potters all have different styles and different ways of approaching the same issue, that is:  What should a ceramic vessel look like? or What do I want to make with this clay I've found. I have started searching through websites and finding work that I find interesting. You will find a range from traditional to contemporary, self-taught to well-schooled, and even a few sites that have some pretty far out, wild stuff. I realize I am just one person and not an official jury, but, I really look for things that seem made well, and in general make me think.  These are links to their websites listed by state.  Some artists do not have a website but I happen to still think their work is worth showing,  in that case I find the closest thing, either a gallery representing the artist or a single photo.     I make pottery myself, and when I was learning to throw on the wheel, I would try to search for good directories of people out there. I found that often: the diversity of taste/styles was not good, lots of links would be broken, and in order to be on a list people had to pay a membership fee. So, I said, I'm going to make my own list and use it for personal reasons. But, every so often I would get an email from an artist who had found my directory, either thanking me for adding them, or giving me their work to look at. Lately, I have heard from people that my site has directed real buyers to their site. So, when I realized people were using it, I started to get more serious with it and make it a great resource for people.
