* CAMPING *

We just got back from Roosevelt scout reservation and it was a real great place and everyone had a great time. It was fun to see Mr Vauples veins pop out of his neck. scroll to the bottom for pictures

The RED TEAM Tim,Jeff,Marc,Jason,Nicholas,Brent, Brandon, and"James") and The BLUE TEAM (Mike,Harry,John,Chris,D'mitree, and Mike,) have done an exceptional job by beating out 11 other Teams to take First and Second place at the District 4 Klondike. This was the first year that Troop 26 has put a second sled into the competition (Blue Team) and they wound up taking Second Place.
The District 4 Klondike was cold but it was worth braving the extremely low temperatures to have the troop take first and Second place. Sunday mornings temp was 11 degrees and by the time we left it went up to a balmy 27. Mr Derbys Beefaroni dinner, Mr Bucks breakfasts, and the Admirals pulled pork lunch were great until they froze solid while still in our hands. Refrigeration wasn't a problem and any thing that could freeze, did. Especially me.

The Atlantic Council Klondike campout was great. We had good weather and the troop took 3rd place out of about 28 troops. They even beat the two GSA teams. Tim and the troop were also awarded the best leadership and teamwork award from the National Guard which was a leatherman multitool.
The troop also was the First Aid requirment station for the webloes.

The last campout to Bass River was successful if not cold. They told me it was 16 degrees on Saturday and thats why I wasn't there.

Webloes woods was a hit. Troop 26 did saftey in the ax yard and the troop made some new friends.

* FUND RAISING *

We need to start planning now for any upcoming fundraising opportunities. Anyone with ideas for sales or events call your patrol leader.

The carnival of 2006 was a big success and the troop did very well. A big thanks to everyone who helped. We could not have done it without the help of all the parents. SCROLL DOWN TO PICS BELOW

We have a fund raising committee now and we need ideas and volunteers. These fund-raising events help keep the Troop alive, help lessen the expense on parents for camp outs and such, and let the Troop do things for the kids that we normally wouldn't be able to do. Come on people lets step up, this is your Troop too.

* THE ORDER OF THE ARROW *
Congratulations to the newest OA members. Tim, Jeff, Billy, Jason, Marc, John, SM Cornell, Mike, Chris

* Misc *
The carving for the Mason lodge isn't finished from summer camp. Anyone interested in finishing call your patrol leader.

General Information

Troop 26 is a group of scouts and parents that enjoy the outdoors. Hiking, camping, and learning survival skills. Through the Merit Badge program the scouts learn basic skills for life. Personal fitness, cooking, and a variety of mechanical and academic merit badges expose the scout to a well rounded taste of what life is like and what awaits them as they grow older. The scouts also have different positions in their individual patrols that help them become independent and develop leadership skills.
