FAQ

1. Wheeler? What kind of name is that?

Ask my parents. They claim it's 'distinguished.' Of course, they haven't had to put up with a lifetime of people saying "Wheeler? No, seriously, what's your name?"

thenamesite.com says Wheeler means "A Driver" (I suppose that's better than "Is that your name? I'm *so* sorry!") and lists my traits as:
Inclined to appear strange and eccentric because s/he is usually ahead of her/his time. (ah ha ha! Yes, that's it. I'm ahead of my time!) Very interested in the occult; in psychic research. (I can't even spell occult (had to cheat to do it that time) and I don't even know what psychic research is) Inclined to do anyting out of the ordinary. (Oh yes, any sentence where 'anything' is spelled wrong must be true) Strong intuitive tendencies. (Can I tell when I'm going to get an extra project at work? Yes, I can!) Can be bitingly sarcastic if crossed. Believes in liberty and equality. Can usually predict the probable outcome of actions and businesses. (Sure. And I do card tricks too!)

2. When did you start writing?

About five years ago, and the first couple of things I wrote I did as a lark to burn off frustration with graduate school (and then because I was on vacation and still didn't want to deal with the grad school thing). But before I knew it, I got totally sucked in and realized hey, I actually like writing fiction!

3. What do you like to do in your spare time?

Wish I'd win the lottery and then realize that in order to do so I should try buying a ticket or two. I also read a lot (some of my favorite authors: Helen Dunmore, Charles Baxter, and David Mitchell) and watch a lot of tv (current favorite shows: Spooks/MI-5, Arrested Development, Veronica Mars, and The OC)

4 and 5. (from bantha_fodder) What is your favorite color? And why do you read?

Black. And I read because I love books. I have been accused of loving them more than people and sometimes I think it might be true. I love words, I love how people can weave them into a story, I love how I can open a page and fall into another world.
