MUCHO-A Very Brief History

MUCHO (Macintosh Users Computers Hands On) was created in 1986 by a few seniors taking a beginning Macintosh course at the Palo Alto Senior Center taught by Larry Rouse of Foothill College. About a dozen of us began meeting in homes fairly regularly. When Apple recognized us as an official Macintosh User Group, we proceeded to publish a newsletter.

Then the Palo Alto Senior Center provided a meeting room and use of a computer for demonstrations at our meetings. After about ten years there, MUCHO needed to move. We contacted Little House and they said they would be delighted to accept MUCHO , with the understanding that our members would also become Little House members. We held our first Little House meeting in September, 1993.

Our relationship with the Little House Computer Club has been excellent. We have many new members and our meetings are well attended. The facilities available at the lab and in the classroom are first class. Some MUCHO members are volunteer instructors and lab monitors for the Little House computer club.
