History of the Terics Academy.

The Terics Academy was founded during the Chreotha reign of the 4th cycle, upon the death of our namesake, the legendary Dragonlord, Terics e'Marish'Chala.

From humble beginnings (the House of the Dragon then being near the bottom of the cycle), the Academy quickly became known as the pre-eminent institution for the training of combat theory and tactics. This endeavour was aided in no small measure by the founding members' access to the papers and correspondence of Terics himself, not to mention their own tactical skills and knowledge, being that most of the first instructors at the Academy were of the e'Terics line.

The fundamental curriculum of the Academy has never changed. The seventeen Tenets of War, as laid out by Lord Terics, remain as true today as they were some two hundred thousand years ago--only minor changes in the application of the Tenets have been needed to allow for the advent of evolving tactics, weapons, and sorceries.

The requirement for each prospective student to spend at least four of their seventeen years at the Academy serving in an actual field combat unit ensures that the theoretical skills are tempered by the practical experience that gives them true value.

It is no coincidence that over two hundred and fifty of the recorded three hundred and twenty Warlords of the Empire have been Terics Academy graduates. It should also be noted that over half the known exceptions to this have been Sethra Lavode.

Today, during the glorious reign of her highness, Norathar II, the Terics Academy stands more ready than ever to train the coming generations of young Dragonlords (as well as those few members of other Houses that can qualify for entry) in the skills required to defend and protect the Empire. Despite the recent threats to Dragaera, the Terics Academy does not waver in our commitment to the staunch principles laid out by our founders.

Welcome to the Terics Academy, where tomorrow's heroes begin their journey.
