It is the year 2022 and human society restructured the world not by nationalism or by countries, but by allegiance to corporations. This was the result of the third world war. The third world war started in the middle east back in 2016 over an oil pipeline dispute. Crude nuclear devices were used and smuggled into opposing factions and hundreds of thousands died directly from these attacks. Thousands more died in the famine and plague that resulted from the war. Leaders of the world's countries could not find a common ground to compromise on peace. It was in 2020 when a new world structure formed. Corporations before the war had become global, with diversified structure with assets in many countries. Those who ran and owned the corporations became tired of elected leaders and dictators of countries inability to find peace. Mega corporations formed and bought or removed leaders that did not support a new world peace. In America the political leaders became employees of these corporations and similar leaders where bought, bribed or assassinated. In 2020 the world found peace and rebuilt based on Corporate leaders now controlling the political process. In 2022 the fragile peace ended when two of the larger corporations had a trade dispute. Soon, corporations started to ally among themselves and develop massive armies to protect their claims. Specialized fighting units were trained and the world returned to conventional warfare. I, like all humans, have allegiance to my corporation known as Merc Co. This corporation develops and trains specialized mercenary fighters to assist in client corporate dispute. I am a Urban Unit (Number UU-574) specializing is internal structure combat. Since the corporations arm their militia units, shootings are a daily part of life that one either kills or is killed. Welcome to the future that is called hell..... I love the cyber goth look and appreciate any opportunity to wear it. The picture to the right was my cyber goth night out at the annual DAX party in 2007. The DAX was held at Club Hot (aka House of Tilden). My attire was inspired by the numerous cyber goth and anime pictures I have seen. I settled on a mix of tank girl meets cyber goth. The most time consuming part was finding all the items to create such a look. What took me the longest was making the cyborg arm show below. I shopped around for some arms online and they were really expensive. I really like to make my own props so I thought I could make a cyborg arm. I started making the arm with a piece of aluminum arm armor that is SCA certified. This isn't your thin aluminum put metal, but seriously think and well built. The basic arm could endure SCA fighting. I purchased some steel from Lowes and made two additional pieces to add to the arm. The first piece enclosed my upper arm and allowed me space for some LED lights. The second addition was a steel panel to wear on the back of my hand. This allowed me to add to tubes to show more of a cyborg look. I bought some LED light kits to add to the effects. One of them was really cool as it blinks to a specific rhythm. The kit that I bought that measures sound just didn't work, so I scratched it. I wore a black latex opera glove under the armor so no skin would show. (Latex clothing is really hard to put on and really hot to wear) The final addition was a clear vinyl tube that wet from my wrist up to my neck. I attached it to my neck via a dog collar and filled the tube with those emergency glow light sticks. This made my arm glow in the dark bar. Here is a close up of the arm:
The hair was a fun addition as I added dread falls with bangs. Basically
dread falls are two clumps of synthetic hair made into dread locks that are attached to an
elastic band. My real hair was tied up into buns and the elastic band from the falls
were tied around it. Then the falls hang over the bun. These are fun to wear
but they add lots of weight and after 4 hours of clubbing, my scalp hurts. What are
hair falls without a bandanna and goggles. Here is Dakota sporting my goggles: My harness is a standard load bearing system back in the day when I played paintball. It was a great choice as it was a very practical addition to the look. The ammo pouches actually were used to carry my cell phone, wallet, car keys, liptick, and the canteen pouch held my digital camera. It was nice not to have a purse to carry. Now my tank top was a erally cool find. I found a company that take photographs
of grave tombstones and they use them for designs on their shirts. The one I am
wearing notes in latin the following, "'remember you are mortal".
Here is the description from the vender: "The actual gravestone is from
the King's Chapel Burial Ground in Boston and is dated 1680 - making it one of the very
oldest carved gravestones in North America. The winged skull or Death's head is meant to
represent Death triumphant in the symbolic imagery language that was employed by the
carvers of the time. A bizarre image to carve into a gravestone" Here is a
close up of the design: I finshed my attire with 2 berretta airsoft pistols. These things really shoot and sting at close range. I think one of the best ways not to be touched or groped is to wear pistols. These are really fun to have. Mine have laser sights though they are not accurate, but look great in a club. (They actually made a few of the men nervous!) Now I use the pistols to chase off the ground hog that lives in my back yard. Here are some other variation of my cyber goth look:
