Buffy is a White West highland Terrier. She was born December 14, 1990 in Kansas. David gave her to Pat as a Christmas present in 1990 in the form of a check that read, Pay to the order of Patricia Caldwell one pup. Pat purchased Buffy at Dan Lore in Ebensburg. Buffy came to live with us February 20, 1991.
Buffy died May 8, 2006. Her kidneys failed, she lost her hearing and her eyes were failing so we made the painful decision to put her to sleep and out of her pain. We had her cremated. Pat now has her ashes on the mantle and in a capsule she wears around her neck. She is sadly missed.
Lucky is a Labrador retriever. He was born December 8, 1997 in Patterson, New York at GEB kennels. His puppy raisers had him for about 15 months then returned him to Guiding Eyes for the Blind in Yorktown Heights, NY. He was trained to be a dog guide during four months of intensive work. David went to Yorktown Heights to train with Lucky on September 8, 1998. He came home with Lucky October 3, 1998. During the summer of 2007, Lucky’s arthritis and trouble with his throat that caused him to have prolonged coughing spells, David made the painful decision to retire Lucky and apply to Guiding-eyes for the Blind to get a new dog guide. Lucky still lives in retirement with the Caldwell family.
Willow was born September 24, 2005 and came to live with us November 11, 2005 weighing 2.5 pounds. Now, full grown, she weighs 10.5 pounds. She is a liver colored Shih Tzu.
