My interest in Charger's began as a kid in the '60's. A national interest in stock car racing was picking up speed - as well as the cars. NASCAR was no longer just for bootleggers and their friends. Kids of all ages, including myself couldn't get enough of fast cars and the men who drove them. Putting together car models were the winter hobby of choice for boys like me. The "Big 3" auto makers took note of the interest in auto racing and began to design cars for those with an interest in racing. I remember summer passtimes of siting by the road with a few of my buddies and watching the cool cars go by and each deciding what kind of car we wanted when we got old enough to drive. We had no idea that cars would change so much or for that matter, get so ugly. I had always liked the looks of the 1966-7 Chargers, but in '68, I was really impressed with them. I thought, "They can't get any better than this." and then lo and behold, the '69's came out! I was hooked then on fo the '69 with it's split grill and horizontal tail lights. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures and history of my car, but also that you'll find the links relating to other Mopar sites helpful too. Last Updated on september 1, 2004 |
