I have kept my journal since May of 1996.

All my material is drawn from my real life adventures and none is made up. Sometimes I exagerate a bit, like the time my son Bill and I went trout fishing and my trout grew from 14" to over 20" on the trip home.

I'm a 76 year old, retired electrical engineer living in Shepherdstown which is the oldest town in West Virginia (Est. 1762).

My dear wife, Pat, passed away in February of 2008. We were married for 53 years. I miss her very, very much.

We have 6 kids and 12 grandkids. All our kids live close by.

I suspect that many of my frequent readers like to read about my life because it is so boring that they are glad it is not happening to them. In that way it's like horror movies. You are always glad it is not happening to you.

• My journal is organized by months. Previous months are available by clicking on "Archives" (above).

• I've arranged the days of the month in reverse order with the most current day on top. That makes it easier for frequent readers.

• As you can see, I've made the font large to make it easy on old eyes.

• I've kept cute graphics to a minimum because they just take up space and increase download time.

• I don't use big words and try to write in short sentences though sometimes I get carried away and fall short by writing long sentences that make it more difficult to understand what I'm trying to get across to the reader especially if it is on a current topic of the day or about some weird incident in my life like the time the old drunk farted on the bus and I raised the roses that I had bought for my wife, Pat toward my nose in self defense.

• Because I like humor and believe that humor promotes good health, I include jokes that tickle my fancy. Some of the jokes are not suitable for children under the age of 40.

• Jokes and other material that I did not write are displayed on a yellow background like yellow sticky notes.

• Sometimes I add a thing or two to other peoples lists. They are usually easy to spot.

ON A MORE PERSONAL NOTE:

If you click on my photograph in the upper right corner, you will see what I looked like when I was about 22 years old. Back then, I had hair.....and teeth. I didn't wear suspenders and was a fancy dresser.
