This is me. I'm 75 years young. I was born and raised in Kansas. I'm a retired electrical engineer. In pursuit of my career, I've lived in Titusville, Florida; near Los Angeles, California; Huntsville, Alabama; St Louis, Missouri; Rockville, Maryland and am now retired in Shepherdstown, WV. Before I retired I was fortunate to have a steady job continuously since the age of 12. For 48 years I worked for someone else. Now that I'm retired, I don't have a boss.

This is my wife, Pat with our first son, Terry. She was about 22 at the time. Many of our early photos are on slides. This is one of the few of Pat when she was a "youngin'."
Pat died February 24, 2008 at the tender age of 73. We were married for 53 years. I miss her so much.

This is Pat and my baby daughter Jennifer. Pat and I were married when I was still in college. We had our first two sons while I was in school. At one time we had 5 kids and the oldest was 5 years old. That's because we had twins (Bill and Mary). Shortly afterward "the pill" was invented and we would have had no more kids except......
Pat's mother got worried about some of the reported side effects of the pill and convinced her to stop for a while. Nine months later we had Jennifer. (thanks, Esther)

This photo was taken in the spring of '94. Here is the entire family except for Samantha and Victoria who weren't born yet. Pat is seated. I am in the back row (the old one with the white beard) with my 6 children. Our 10 grand children are all over the place. Our oldest son Terry has his own pest control business. David is an certified auto technician. Karen is an archaeologist. Mary is a stay at home mom. Bill is in new residence construction, and our baby, Jennifer, is a stay at home mom who does part-time, freelance consulting.
Karen is our oldest daughter. When she was little she used to love to dig in the sand under the swing set in the backyard. Using her toy little shovel and pail she would dig for hours. She grew up (as they always do) and got a her masters degree in Applied Anthropology (Archaeology) from the American University.
She's a hands on archaeologist that spends much of her time in the field mostly doing "historic" archaeology. She was the field director for the dig in Gettysburg where they discovered a civil war soldier's remains.
Karen recently took a position with the National Park Service. She has a townhouse in Frederick, Maryland and a big German Shepherd named Indy.

This is my second son, David and his wife. They and their 3 kids live in Kearneysville, WV which is about 5 minutes from me. Our entire family was there for Easter this year where these pictures were taken. David is getting my high forehead. I've been told that baldness comes from the mother's side. But take a look at Pat's hair and then mine and you decide.

Bill and Mary (William Joseph and Mary Irene) were named after their four grandparents.
Mary lives across the street from me where I lived in Rockville, Maryland. Mary used to play with her friends in that house. The people asked my wife and I if we would object to them selling their house to my daughter. I thought it was strange but I'm sure they were only being considerate.
Mary has 3 sons. One graduated from the Univeristy of Maryland with a degree in mechanical engineering. The other two are still in college. Bill and his 2 daughters live in Brunswick, Maryland which is about 25 miles from Shepherdstown.

My oldest son Terry and his two daughters, Elizabeth on the left and Becky on the right. Elizabeth is obviously tickled. Terry has a shotgun on his living room wall that he shows to all the boys that come to his house. He would use it to protect his girls and they know it. Becky will graduate in 2008 and be an elementary school teacher. Elizabeth will start to college in 2008 and study to become a teacher.

My youngest son Bill and his daughter Desire'. She makes straight A's on her report cards, but I don't like to boast. Notice his fingers on her ribs. He was tickling her to make her smile. This picture was taken at Christmas 1995 when she was 8 years old. She is now going to college to become an elementary school teacher.
Her younger sister, Tricia started at the University of Maryland this fall. She is not going to be a teacher. She plans to be a researcher or a physician. I hope she becomes a doctor so she can find out what's wrong with me and fix me.

This is a picture of my youngest daughter Jennifer and her husband Ernie. The dog is Gretchen (she's the one on the right). Jenny had twins girls Nov. 5, 1997. This picture was taken Christmas Eve 1996 at their new house. It looks like Ernie was pregnant. (He wasn't.)
Gretchen is a police dog. Ernie is a police man. They don't work together though. She's a stay at home guard dog. Gretchen died and now they have Fritz a giant schnauzer.

This is my son David and his family. Cathleen, Jeffrey, Steven, and wife Jacky. Nice looking family is I say so myself. Steven and Jeffrey are the only ones that will carry on my surname. Not many of us left. The only other I know of lives in California and his son has no sons.

Jenny was our baby. She is 31 now. I loved to hold all my kids on my lap and hug them and tell them stories. When they got big, they stopped. Between Jenny and the twins was a period of 7 years so I didn't have any little ones to sit on my lap for a few years. I used to tell Jenny that someday she would get so big that she wouldn't want to sit on my lap anymore. She always hugged me and said that she would never get too big to sit on my lap. She was a regular visitor there for about 8 years. One day, after getting a knee in an indelicate spot, I suggested to her that she was getting too big. After that, she didn't sit on my lap much anymore. I suspect that she still would, if I'd let her.

This is a photo of Jenny holding Samantha Marie and Victoria Leigh when they were two days old. Jenny had been in the hospital for 12 days and was very tired...but just look at how happy she is.
She named the twins middle names after her sisters, Mary and Karen Leigh. They were both thrilled.
Ernie's parents, Toni and Billy, are grandparents for the first time. Ernie is their only child. They were so excited they forgot to eat for 2 days after the twins were born.
