Great regular season team!!! Go get em in the playoffs! Wish I could be there!
What can you say about game #10? A beautiful day at Magnolia Woods, with light enough winds to keep the mosquitos away and a warm day for play. The Crusaders were victorious 25-8! Patrick pitched a whale of a game, going the distance and the Crusaders hit 3 home runs, including one by newcomer (returning player) Chris Allison, who joined brother Danny and dad Jim. Nick Alsheimer and Justin Nascimento also hit homers. On the down side, Bruce Grout bowed out of the Ripken Award running, leaving only Derek Gomes, Ralph Sherrick and Richard "Scooter" Silva (owner of the infamous 'WHOOP-WHOOP') in the chase for the award. Lilly was once more in attendance as the youngest Crusader fan, holding court on the sidelines under the watchful eyes of the Princess' court, including Katie Carr, who put away her glove to once more keep the baby safe.
The Crusaders are now 4-6, putting the team in second place in the divisional standings. Next game is Monday, July 20 at Pine Hill in Lynn. Being a local field, we expect many of our fans to come out and cheer the team on.
