Great regular season team!!! Go get em in the playoffs! Wish I could be there!

The Crusaders continue the hot/cold spell we seem to be following this season. Last night we were cooled off by a team of (in this writer's opinion) ringers who probably practice at least once a week and certainly know what they are doing on the field! In looking at the scores of the Calvary Christian, I see that we are the first team to hold them under 30 runs for a game, so our defense is still fairly solid, although for the distance they were hitting the ball, we could only do so much. We will get 'em next time!
I'd like to thank new Crusaders for coming out to play. Katie Carr, Nick Alsheimer and Chris Allen, welcome aboard! I hope you are ready to have some fun. Welcome back to senior returning Crusader Jim Allison, who last played when the Crusaders wore mustard and not teal. I hope the muscles feel fine today Jimmy, it was great having you back.
Many fans were at the game last night, perhaps the most we have had all season. Richard and Jane Silva, Debbie Grout and her Dad, Joanne Carr with Erin and Amanda, we also had the Cody Contingency, Chris' wife Tricia and Lilly, the youngest Crusader fan to date! I need names and apologize for leaving anyone out. Don't forget that on June 22 the Crusaders will have their annual Tailgate Party. All are invited to attend (bring your friends!). Crusaders, watch for a special e-mail announcing this event.

I would also like to give a special Crusader send off to Tim Scoonover who played in perhaps his final Crusader game. We all know that when God calls upon us, our only option is to follow His wishes. Tim and his lovely bride Ashley have been called by the Lord to go to Georgia and to help lead a church there. Georgia's extreme fortune comes at the cost of South Congregational Church and the Crusaders. They will both be missed in the pews, on the pulpit and on the field. Tim shows that when God's gifts are used the way He intended...well just look up Phillipians 4:13. The Scoonovers will be missed.

Crusaders provide gum, water and Twizzlers at our games. Does anyone have any other requests? Players and fans are always welcome to bring out whatever treats they want to add to the snack table. Just another reminder to the players that dues is $5 and a tshirt is $2. Each is a one time fee for the season. Thank you all for coming out.
