Aaron and Mandie -- Who We Are

We are sure that before you give to our cause, you'd like to know more about who we are.

 Aaron:

I was born in Danvers, Massachusetts in June of 1983. I was the second son to my parents. I was very blessed to grow up in a very loving, caring, and supportive environment. My parents were always available to both my brother and myself, and all of our needs (as well as many wants!) were met. My parents raised us knowing the love of Jesus Christ, and our home was a spiritual haven.

I met my wife a few years ago, a beautiful woman with a heart and passion to serve God. We worked together leading our church's high school youth group, and over time, fell in love. We felt the calling of the Lord to be married, and were wed in July of 2006. One year later, we left New Hampshire to begin a new life in Nashville, Tennessee, just a few miles away from where my parents had moved. I currently work for a plumbing corporation as the head of their return's department. As I work on my music and make preparations to continue pursuing my education, I am very grateful to God for providing me with a good, stable income for our family. We have a beautiful home, a good life, and a lot of love to give to a child. We are both looking forward to what the future will bring!

Mandie:

I was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in October of 1979. I was the youngest of two daughters born to my parents. I wish I could say that I had the perfect life, but unfortunately that was not the case. My parents separated when I was six months old. I grew up with my mother and had limited contact with my father. My father passed away when I was 13, and my mother passed when I was 23. I am an orphan today, and that serves as a piece of my heart that is reaching out to open my home to an orphaned child. I know what it is to not have parents, and it is a very sad thing.

My life today is so good! I met a wonderful Christian man a few years ago, and we wed on July 15, 2006. We moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the summer of 2007 where I began working in a private school as a K-8 Music and Theatre Arts educator. I absolutely love my job! It brings me great joy!

In our down time at home, we tend to watch movies, play board games, and write and play music together. Both of us sing and play various instruments. We have two cats: a flame-point siamese named "Red Sox" that we adopted from the shelter in November of 2007, and a dark gray short-haired named Abby that we just brought home in November of 2009. I love my job, my home, and my life! I am excited to share this life with the child that God is leading us to.

Both of us stand firm in the belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and that He will guide our every step along this journey. We will continue to serve God in whatever capacity we are called to, and we will raise and educate our future children in the ways and love of the Lord. Every child deserves to know the love of a family, the security of a home, and the unconditional love that the Lord can give. We long to be extensions of the hands of Christ in providing a loving home for the children that the Lord will bless us with!
