April 2007

4/2/07 - I was set on buying a few more Vice-Grips for the metal brake to keep the metal from shifting when I remembered I have a set of 4 adjustable wood clamps for small projects. These are the type that are made of steel and one arm slides along steel rod but has an adjuster like a normal C-clamp. The adjusters allowed for a much tighter grip than the Qwik-Clamps I was using a few days ago. And just like that, the 3rd piece of aluminum (lower front) was bent.

I did note that once in position, the visible edge seemed to be about 1/8" further up the radiator's bottom than I had anticipated. I will probably trim down the leading edge to allow it to move down a bit more.

As you can see in the pictures, there's still a lot of scratches to be worked out, but I'm sure it'll work out fine. Time to buy some Scotch-Brite!
