August 2005

8/26/2005 - The month has been quiet but just to fill the void, the fuel pickup from CarTech was returned with the filter bung welded to the correct side (the Aeroquip fittings were from Summit Racing and tightened in using Permatex Red for good measure.

I've ordred a few items from Forte's and awaiting their arrival sometime next week. This includes the T5 Vent Tube, Clutch Cable retaining clip and an 18:1 Steering Rack. Mike could not locate the filter bag to be used on the CarTech pickup so I'll have to go to the Ford dealership for that piece.

8/30/2005 - The steering rack, T5 vent and fork extension all arrived today. I found the vent kinda odd; I was thinking it was a long hose but the green cap kinda wiggles around loosly; sort of reminds me of a pressure cooker valve. :)

The fork extension was installed and if you look closely, you can see just how close the original hole is to the bellhousing; as the fork comes closer towards the front, the hole will start to sink below the surface of the bellhousing! The extension puts the cable a full 1" further out allowing for good alignment throughout the forks travel. Nice solid piece of steel and grade 8 bolt.
