DECEMBER 2006

12/6/2006 - Happy Holidays! I haven't forgotten the journal but things have quieted down since a couple of weeks ago. I'm actually getting back to a "normal" life around the house. While I have stuff still to do, it's been so darn cold the past week and a half, that I'm just not motivated to do anything on the car. My "still" to-do list on the car will likely be started next year after the holidays have died down. I looked at the calendar for December and my "social coordinator" has booked all of my weekends with something. We'll see when we get towards Christmas day.

I did take the Friday before Christmas just in case I don't get all my shopping done but if everything get's wrapped, I may have time to finally get the over riders installed. I've already secured the threaded rod but I should probably look into the nylon bushings as one member suggested, that fit into the tubes for the over riders (that will cover the threaded rods). This will help center the tubes around the threaded rod and keep things looking straight.

In the meantime, I noted that I never did take any photos of the interior and engine after the body was installed back in September; I was so focused on the registration piece that I simply forgot.

Also, I didn't post a good shot of the back side of the louvers so I took a shot of that as well. Enjoy.

12/23/2006 - Nothing necessarily new to report except I did receive Herb Fraser's door panels (plain) which he had on sale for the holidays. The panels took all of about 30 seconds each to install, and that includes wiping down the doors with alcohol to ensure they were oil free. The driver side appears slightly off near the door latch but the passenger side appears to be pefect. I had lined up both pannels together and they were identical so I can only assume there was a variance in how the door was made.

After installing the door panels, my wife needed to run some errands and I got her to go with me in the FFR. It was rather fun since she doesn't go with me much. She noted her outer shoulder got pretty cold due to the chilly temperatures ( about 48-50 degrees. ) Still she enjoyed the ride.

Here's wishing everyone a Happy Holiday!
