Interior and Dash
Once all of the body work was complete, I lined the inside of the tub with Herculiner for a durable skid resistant finish. The tunnel cover was made from 1" strap steel to start the base and then sheet metal was added to cover the rest. The twin stick boot is from Currie and the transmission boot is from an auto parts store.
The original dash had been hacked up to fit aftermarket gauges and the glove box was completely missing. I decided to completely remove the old dash and install a custom aluminum dash. The aluminum was cut to fit the shape of the cowl and the mounted using 1/4-20 button head bolts. The dash was a little too long so I had it sheared off by a few inches. Autometer Phantom gauges were installed to monitor the essentials. Sealed toggle switches and LED's were installed to control the lights, line lock, fan and other future items.
Other interior modifications include a lockable center console made from a military ammunition can, a Uniden CB and a master kill switch. There was no room under the hood for a battery so I mounted an Optima red top behind the seats. Cargo room was very limited due to the fuel cell in the tub so I made a gear rack to fit over the fuel cell to hold tools, spare parts, ice chest and camping gear. It has a hinged lid for access to the fuel filler.
The seats are Summit Racing plastic buckets with seat covers. 5 point G-Force harnesses are also installed for safety.
