Bob Germano was stationed at the Misawa Air Base in Misawa Japan when he caught the beachcombing bug. Here are a few pictures of some of his more interesting floats.

A Small Portion of Bob's Collection

This picture shows one of the more unusual floats, the mis-shapen black float. This float is so dark that it's almost completely opaque.

Artists will often paint glass floats for display. Here are some examples that Bob owns. All the floats painted with a Japanese theme were painted by a Japanese artist that worked for the Air Force while the Indian Chief portrait was painted by the wife of one of Bob's glass float hunting buddies.

Notice the marking near the bottom of this float. Although I can't make it out, it's probably is one of the "double FF" marks from the Hokuyo glass company.
