This is the finished render of the X-Files Logo tutorial from the EI Technology Group. This tutorial was written by Lee Croft and teaches the use of glows, smoke, color, and keyframe animation of moving lights.
Electric Image Animation System (EIAS) creates some of the most beautiful renders in the world of CG, and is used in feature film, broadcast television, and product commercials of all types. I purchased the 3DToolkit from dvGarage and have been practicing my modeling and animation skills since then.
The final clip was rendered out at DV NTSC resolution then converted to a DV stream with Quicktime Pro. That file was opened in iMovie for editing, where a trimmed version of the marvelous X-Files theme by Mark Snow was added. The iMovie project was saved, and the clip can now be output at various sizes for different purposes.
X-Files stuff is, of course, copyright by Chris Carter, Mark Snow, Fox, and all those great folks who brought us the series. Thanks to Lee Croft for the great tutorial.
