Holzworth Crew

The first crew picture on this site was mistakenly identified for a period of time, it was actually that of the Merrill Crew.  The picture shown here was taken stateside when Holzworth was CP to Cummings in the ASW Group, and names were provided by Rodman St.Clair in the fall of 2001.

Albert G. Stout, Jr.       -    Navigator

Edmund C. Andrews          -    Dispatcher at Harrington
Fred Barrett               -    Tail Gunner
Milton Bromberg            -    Did not go to Alconbury

Status: Holzworth became Assistant Ops Officer after the 27 Dec 43 crash of the Williams crew,  a short list of Holzworth's combat flights includes:

047         - Extra CP to Carpenter
054         - Copilot to Pipkin
March '44   - no missions logged
285         - Pilot to a makeup crew
300         - CP to Merrill
385         - Pilot to a makeup crew
568, 606, 705 and 733, 4 missions with Harrison's former crew. Holzworth also flew C-47 Missions 6,21,31,34 all in late August and early September of 1944.

When Harrison, pro-rated for his ASW missions, left in early June, Holzworth flew with the remnants of Harrison's crew until they finished out their tours.  He is logged for one C-47 flight in August and four C-47 missions in September, but by the end of that month he still had only 25 missions completed and was probably to remain at Harrington for some time.  His final departure date and later missions are not yet recorded.
