Moser Crew

Crew Details: Moser's history with the group is a bit confused, he may have arrived alone while the Group was officially at Watton during March of 1944. He flew missions in April and May of 1944 as Copilot to several different pilots, then in June began the month with make-up crews from the 36th BS.  By the end of the month it appears that his crew became that of John D. Lee, who had by this time become medically disqualified for flying.  By the end of August, he had 34 missions and disappears from Harrington records, his last appearance being in the reorganization orders of 13 August 1944.  His crew members, who started much later, had to finish out their tours as fill-ins.

Moser flew an incredible 16 combat missions in July of 1944, or more than one for every two days of the month!  In mid-August of 1944, a plane he had favored, '172' became a casualty of war when the Norton crew hit a hill over France, killing seven of the eight flyers aboard.
