Six members of the crew are shown here, though we do not have names for all of them. This picture was taken at Leuchars, Scotland after an 11hr 40min mission to deliver four Joes to the Norwegian Resistance. But the Joes refused to jump because of suspicious lighting in the DZ and the crew, running short of fuel because of the time stooging, had to land for refueling at the ATC base in Scotland. The aircraft in the picture is, according to the Harrington Ops Log, B24D 42-40538K, one of the longest-serving aircraft for the Group which returned to the ZI in July of 1945.
Kennedy and Turchen had first reported to Harrington on 20 September 1944 as part of the Wroten crew, too late for combat missions at that time. Bradley had been on-base since July of 1944, being the bombardier for the ill-fated Lemke crew. Ross White had come over to the Group in August of 1944 when the daylight group had disbanded.
