Shown above with a trainer aircraft, they were to ferry B24-J 42-51291 to the U.K. leaving Dow Field, Bangor, Maine on 9 July 1944 and arriving at Harrington later in the month.  Constant and Gould did not go with them to Station 179.  Too late to complete a tour in the speedy time of the earlier squadrons, they were to stay for a while, probably not returning to the Zone of the Interior until 1945.

Combat Period: Began August 1944. They managed to get in twelve missions before the gas haul period, and were later in the year transferred to the 858th BS under Boone.  Their departure date from Harrington is unknown, but believed to be in the spring of 1945.

Aircraft Details: Tom Brittan
