Cunningham Crew![]()
The crew is shown here at Harrington, probably late in the summer of 1944, judging by the drop markers on Cunningham's jacket (30).
Standing, L-R:
Robert M. Cunningham - Pilot
Raymond F. Daily - Copilot
William J. English - Navigator
Harold C. Rogler - Bombardier
Kneeling, L-R:
Arnold Brown - Radio Operator
Raymond J. Elliot - Tailgunner
Robert G. McLean - Dispatcher
Edward F. Walsh - EngineerStatus: Replacement crew, they arrived at Harrington on 10 May 1944 on orders from 8th AF Composite Command. The Jacobson crew arrived on the same orders. As with many other crews arriving at Harrington, there were two orphans:
The latter managed an orientation ride with Lucey (MR 728) in June but both were transferred to the 487th BG at Station 137 on 2 July 1944.
Preferred Aircraft: The crew seems to have been indifferent in this regard, as the table below shows their missions for July of 1944.
