857th/856th BS
Megert Crew
The Megert crew reported in to Harrington on the 18th of December 1944, along with a number of other replacement crews from the 70th Replacement Depot. Though originally assigned to the 857th BS, they were reassigned to the 856th BS prior to the move of the 857th to Bassingbourne. The picture above with names was received from John K. Butts. ASNs from SO351 70th ReplDep Sta 594 16Dec44. Three of their mission reports are on the Depot site. John Butts sent in his missions list which shows 19 missions with the Megert crew and one with the Seacord crew; the list is available as a PDF file on the Depot site.
