857th/858th BS
Monahan Crew
The crew arrived at Harrington on 18 December 1944 on orders issued from the 70th Replacement Crew Depot. Trained for and flying a number of night bombing missions, they were transferred to the 858th BS during the personnel turmoil of March 1945 when the 857th was sent to Bassingbourne. On the night of 19/20 April 1944, they were brought down by a combination of enemy aircraft and ground flak. All aboard were KIA. Neither Cory or Holmes were onboard. Deceased were:
