B24H 42-51211 "Miss Fitts"
Chosen as the aircraft representative of the group and
idealized on the monument at Harrington, the photograph is one of the best ever
taken of a Carpetbagger aircraft. It was a 788th BS aircraft at the time and was
most probably piloted by the Gilpin crew when this photo was taken in the summer
of 1944. Foxhall cottages in the background.
