Behind the combat missions were the ground crews who maintained the planes 'in situ' and behind them were the various shops on-base. If a plane could not be repaired locally, it went to one of the Strategic Air Depots, usually Burtonwood for Harrington planes. If it could not be flown there or was crashed, salvage crews would be called in to parcel out the useable items. Shown here with '801' is Samuel Braudt (near center with mustache) and his crew who worked for the 406th/858th BS. TS Ticket II was declared obsolete in January of 1945 and was last seen heading in to Burtonwood.
