Stuff I like to do

Mustangs

Well, I thought I'd just make a page where I ramble on about the things I like to do just to help round out the rest of the "About Me" menu.

If you couldn't tell from my site, I like cars. Mustang to be exact. I've owned quite a few different makes and models, but I've always wanted something that would be recognizable no matter what year it was. Some of those earlier cars were a '54 Chevy pick up, '89 Ford Escort, '79 Honda Civic, and a '94 Nissan Sentra. None of them really gave me any satisfaction of being the owner. Actually, if I were older when I got it, I'd still have the '54 Chevy since it is a classic auto and not something you see every day.

I bought my first Mustang right around Labor Day in 2002. It was a white coupe with automatic drive. It was ok. It had the new car smell still and nice interior. I still wanted something more though. Well, being the excellent car owner that I am, I took it into the dealership to have the oil changed and tires rotated and I went out to the lot to just peruse the different cars they had out there. The one that caught my eye was cherry colored convertible! To make a long story short, out popped the salesman and off I drove with my second Mustang leaving the coupe behind!

Once I got my new toy home, I hit the internet looking for things to do with it. I was certainly amazed at all the site out there just waiting for me to buy parts and make my car unique. Well, it didn't take long, but I bought a few parts for it like the CAI, Intake Spacer, Under Drive Pulley, and a Rear Sway Bar. I even found out how to raise up the gas pedal so it was more even with the brake pedal and allowed me to cut the reaction time down if I had to make a panic stop. I'm currently saving up money to get my next set of mods which will be a sequential turn signal kit, 3rd brake light flasher kit, and maybe some fog lights from a Mustang GT.

Computers

Computers are another hobby of mine. I used to have a computer that I had actually built myself. It lasted me several years with regular upgrades like the motherboard, cpu, video and memory. I think the chassis was the only original item that didn't change. Well, as father time took it's toll, that computer is now a boat anchor...or about as good as one. So, I decided to buy a brand name computer since they were getting cheaper than building one from scratch. I decided on a Dell Dimension 2400 and all the goodies that came with their $499 system including a 15" Flat Panel screen!

Well, being the tinker bug that I am, quickly got everything set up and linked up to my home network and the internet to make sure everything worked then powered it down. I figured out how to pop open the chassis and took a look-see. I must say, the techs at Dell know how to put a computer together and keep everything neat and tidy inside. Well, I just didn't open the thing up to gaze in wonder, I wanted to see what kind of memory this thing was running on and popped out the single stick of 128MB. Hmmm...of course, I'm the greedy type when it comes to memory so off I go down to the local computer store and picked up a stick of 512MB and popped that in there. Definately makes a difference! One of these days, I'll get another 512 stick put in there and take advantage of the dual memory ability that comes with a P4 motherboard.
