Rear Sway Bar

Like most owners out there, I want my car to handle better than what it does with the stock suspension system. I read about all the products out there and found that a stock V6 Stang isn't made for canyon carving. Now I know I can't just put a suspension part on my car and expect it to drive like it was on rails. I have to remove and replace quite few items. Now something that alot of new owners are not aware of is that most V6's do not come with a rear sway bar.

Well, after much reading in the threads at 3.8Mustang.com in the suspension threads, I found that a rear sway bar from an '88 Thunderbird will fit perfectly. So, off I went to the local pick-a-part and found one sitting in the trunk of an '88 t-bird and got it for under $13! Now, it was time to figure out how to install the darn thing!

More reading and searching the threads at 3.8 led me to a nice how-to for installing it. Printed out the directions that also listed the parts I needed for my install and out to my dad's who has some tools that I'll need. After about two hours, I had the bar installed and everything back together. Now, it was time to go see how differently my car handled.

There is a good road that is full of turns and twists near by so I go and take the stang out and give it a whirl! What a difference the bar made. Now I can't wait until I can replace the stock springs, shocks and struts!
