Charles E. Paeth was born December 14, 1923 in Geneseo, New York.  He entered the service December 1, 1943 at the induction center at Camp Upton.  He was placed in the infantry & sent to Camp Croft, South Carolina.  After furlough in April, he reported to Ft. Meade, MD, and from there was sent to England where he entered combat service about July 20th.  In France, he was promoted to PFC, and received the Expert Infantry Combat medal.  He was killed in action August 14, 1944.
