BROTHERS

Once we were soldiers of the 83rd artillery
defenders of our country,
and brothers of our nation.

We wore the red and green for you,
we were a mighty few.
There were tiring days and lonely nights
as we often thought of you.

We drilled and marched in summer's sun
and shivered when it's cold.
Our tents were filled with dirt and bugs
and sometimes water too.

But we served as all proud soldiers do
in a far off distant land.
We patrolled the high hills
and swept the low hills
and guarded throughout the night for you!

Now as we've grown old
our cadence is much less bold
but our pride still carries us through
so to this I say may God bless all of you.
