Jean Knott, that
nutty Philadelphian, has two cats, Sweetie Pie and the
Michigan Grey Growler, aka MGG.
I heard a
plaintive, but insistent, meowing one
morning. I quickly counted cats...yup all mine were
present and accounted for. I looked out the bedroom
window...and there she was. About 3 months old,
hungry, lonesome and bewildered...but loud. I went
out and picked her up - she wasn't afraid at all, just
annoyed that I'd not come earlier. I believe some
degenerate abandoned her when the summer vacation was
over and it was time to go home.
Well, I had a lot
of cats - I really didn't need another; but how could I
turn this lovely little girl away? I brought her
in and put down a dish of food for her...she dug
in, with a vengeance. I reached out to stroke her
soft little head - she growled, but kept right on
eating. She always growled when she ate, and probably
does to this day, which is why she's named the Michigan
Grey Growler.
Jean already had a cat, but when I
told her about MGG, she wanted to adopt her. She
drove all the way here and picked her up and now MGG is
ruling the household of several snakes, Jean and her
other cat, SweetiePie.
SweetiePie wasn't amused by the
intrusion, but it learning to adjust. I'm not sure what
the snakes think. |
