Brown Ajah Quests
Feb 2006
A note has been hastily tacked up on the board over the other papers. As you
look over it, you strain your eyes. Whoever wrote this had terrible handwriting!
To the Novices and Accepted of the White Tower,
The Brown Ajah has several tasks we need done and we would appreciate as much
help as possible. Rewards will be given based on quality of work. For those that
seek items from across the world please turn these items in to either Danelle or
any Brown sister awake. Should you choose to turn these items into Danelle
Sedai, please give them to her in a pouch. Also, send us a log of the items in
the pouch (look pouch) and of you handing them into Danelle Sedai. Please
include a short note about where these items were found.
Quest 1:
History is an accumulation of knowledge through evidence, though sometimes our
view of history is through our own interpretation. The Brown Ajah wishes for you
to seek out a Gleeman and politely ask him how their stories are influenced by
their own interpretation of events in the past. Please submit a short essay (of
no more than 500 words) on how history can be influenced by the person telling
it. Please include the name of the Gleeman you spoke with for reference.
Quest 2:
The Brown Ajah seek to gain more information about the lands certain nations
control. Please seek out one of our sisters to be assigned a territory for
research. Your research should include the limits of the territory, main cities,
justice clans and key figures, smobs, and landmarks that can be found within the
boundaries of the territory.
Quest 3:
Though so much has been lost over the years, there are still a few artifacts
left in our world heralding from the Age of Legends and the bloody times
following during the War of the Shadow. Find these relics and submit an essay to
the Brown Ajah, including their location, present usages, and any information
you can find, or your own theories explaining the original intent and usages of
these artifacts.
Quest 4:
The Brown Ajah prides itself in having some of the most capable teachers.
Following in our tradition, we would like you to seek out another Novice or
Accepted, or a Brown sister who is awake, and teach her a class of no longer
than 30 minutes on a topic of your choosing. Should you teach another Novice or
Accepted, please send us the notes of your class.
Quest 5:
History is influenced by many people in different ways. We would like to see who
has influenced our novices and accepted. Please write a short essay (of no more
than 500 words) on a person, other than the Dragon, that you feel has been the
most influential in history. This could be someone from the books, the mud, etc.
Quest 6:
The Brown Ajah wishes to determine the structure and relative durability of
various crystals. Bring us two gemstones so we may begin this research.
