Green Ajah Quests
Nov 2005
In the Tower
gardens a chrysalis breaks open and a small butterfly emerges. It spreads its
wings, allowing the sun to warm and dry them. It shivers and takes off, passing
the Accepted and Novice galleries. The girls in white dresses gossiping pay it
no attention as it passes, and nor do the older ones in banded dresses hurrying
from class to class. The butterfly continues, being carried in a small draft
down the stairwell and towards the library. Here it comes to rest on newly
pinned parchment letting its wings rise and fall, their colours flashing.
Suddenly, it freezes and floats across the room with not even a flutter of its
antennae into the hand of a Brown Sister. With the butterfly not obscuring the
parchment any longer it can be read:
Upon completion you can hand in your
items to a Green Sister who is awake, place in a sack and give to Alanna Sedai
(sending a log of this to the Green Ajah), or mail your completed task to us.
1. The Green Ajah invites you to celebrate Dahan with us. The anniversary of the
final victory in the Trolloc Wars and freedom from the Shadow is a cause for
celebration but also a time for remembering the men and women lost during the
350 years that the Shadow plagued the lands. Collect a skull, three tapered
candles, a red rose, and a goblet of wine. Find a peaceful place where you will
be safe and follow these instructions:
*Pull the petals from the rose, creating a bed of petals.
*Place the three candles in the middle of the petals and light them.
*Put the skull over the candles, so that the light shines through the sockets.
*Once the candles have burnt out, pour the wine over the skull.
Bring the items back to the Green Ajah and forward your personal ceremony to our
mailbox.
2. Sailors from afar who frequent our local taverns report of elaborate carvings
seen on a cliffside in Southern waters. We have no record of such carvings in
our archives, but some small mention of them was made in one of Jain Farstriders
volumes Alanna has been reading. You may need to invest in a sturdy canoe or
raft to find these cliffside carvings. Send a detailed report of their location
and description to the Green Ajah.
3. The Green Ajah's Sitting Room recently had some new chairs delivered.
However, the room still requires some finishing touches to make it the relaxing
study we desire. We require an otter pelt rug, a vase of Seafolk porcelain
complete with a blue rose, and anything else you can think of that would help
the Green Sisters relax after a long day patrolling the Borderlands.
((NOTE:I've heard
there are those among you who think they must turn the otter's skin into a pelt
for us. This is not what we are asking. Simply cut the scalp from the otter and
the pelt shall follow... ))
4. There are reports within the Southlands of a mysterious statue in a forrested
area harming travelers passing by. It is said that upon closer study, this
peculiar statue began to move as if it were actually alive. In hopes of
protecting more vulnerable explorers, defeat this animated statue and bring a
Green Ajah Sister proof of this deed.
5. One task from last time will continue on. We are still interested in hearing
your ideas for weaves to use against the Shadow. Those who completed this
already may submit a further idea for reward.
Quote:
Many Greens are said to adore fireball as a weave of choice. Others may prefer
the use of fear or poison to strike out at the enemy. However, we realise that
many of the weaves that were once known were lost to our lands during the
Breaking. We'd like you to direct your studies into thinking of a new combat
weave to use against the Dark hoards. Tell us what elements this weave requires,
what it would look like to viewers and what it does to the target.

Sitter for the Green Ajah
