  1. At the start of the fishery, every rod had a fish on if the tide wasn't running too hard.
  2. Every fish was over 20 pounds in 1969, some going as high as 45 pounds.
  3. When it was nice, the captain went for a swim (before the sharks arrived).
  4. Plenty of big tilefish in 1970.
  5. More in 1971.
  6. By the late 1970s the fish were noticeably smaller.
