Balsam Ridge Katherine (aka Katie) was born 13 July 2001. Her sire is Saghalie's Kaniksu Reign (Rainy) and her dam is Woodsrunner X Raquel (Raqui). Katie weighs 60 lbs and is 23 inches tall. She is CERF normal and OFA Good. Katie was originally a 4th generation Chinook cross from a line initiated by Bob and Connie Jones of Woods Runner Chinooks with an outcross to an Alaskan Malamute. In April 2005, she was approved by the COA Cross program as eligible for UKC registration as a purebred Chinook. Her UKC registration number is P437-962.

Katie was the 3rd of 4 pups in the litter. Here are a few favorite shots from her puppyhood.

Katie loves to swim. Here she is in the Assabet River with brother Hudson (R) and older brother Tucker (L).

Katie is also an eager sled dog. Although she's smaller, she can pull her weight right alongside older brother Tucker. Just like MJ, you can tell by her tongue that she's concentrating on having a great time!

After a hard run, Katie enjoys relaxing at home in the meadow...especially if there is sunshine in which to warm herself.
