Balsam Ridge Chinooks Ann Eakin & Syd Craig Stow, MA BalsamRidgeChinooks@comcast.net TnT Puppies are Here! 19 Feb 2007 |
Balsam Ridge Chinooks is proud to welcome to the world 3 new Chinook male puppies delivered by C-section on 19 Feb 2007. The dam - CH Rain Mountain Tatla of Bearcreek - is doing well as are the pups. The pups' sire - CH Balsam Ridge Tucker - is the 'choir director' in our pack, leading the daily howling sessions. Therefore not only should these pups be excellent sled dogs, but they also are likely to be great 'singers' themselves. With that in mind, we are naming these boys after
The Three Tenors: José, Luciano, & Plácido
(Rest assured these names will be only temporary while they remain together as a litter before they go to their new homes in 8 weeks.)

Here are the boys just minutes after the C-section delivery warming in the incubator while Mom was being stitched up. | |

Here is Tatla just after surgery meeting her pups for the first time. The delivery was performed by Dr. Migday at Slade Vet Hospital in Framingham, MA - mom and pups were given excellent care. |
After ~3.5 hours at the clinic, Tatla and pups arrived home safely to settle into the whelping box to eat and rest. The rest of the pack were eager to meet the pups, as demonstrated by Grandma Raqui (below). John, Les and (big) Ben from Granite Hill Chinooks came down for a visit that evening and helped take photos.
