Beta fixed!

With help from several players I've been able to find that MAGROM was in fact used in the game. I've translated that and a revised text patch is available to the left. I've re-enabled the movie patch, since I've got a working URL from Metafox to get back to it now.

NOTE: ROM/ISO requests will be ignored. Please check the eBay and Yahoo Japan links to the left.

Documented here is my slow (but steady!) progress through translating the Japanese Playstation game "Bloody Bride" by Atlus. The game was released in 1996 and has been out of print for some time. My wife and I have interest in many things "vampire", and she really wanted to find this game.

Thanks to the old Deja-News service (now a part of Google), I located a single Usenet post from 1999 offering to sell the game. It had been nearly a year since the post, but I was fortunate that the seller still had it and was willing to part with it for a reasonable sum.

As I have several imported wrestling titles, I'm used to searching for translations on the web. Unfortunately, none turned up for Bloody Bride. I'm sort of teaching myself Japanese, and when I stumbled on the uncompressed text files on the game CD, I decided to see what a couple dictionaries, a translator program, and my very rudimentary knowledge would take me. What follows is the result.

This is my first "real" contribution to the Internet, so please enjoy and let me know if you found it useful. And most importantly, if you happen to read Japanese and find that my translation for a piece of text is wrong (READ: crap), please let me know! I probably relied a little too much on the translator program, and only did more than "smoothing" when the translation made no sense.

Special thanks to my darling wife, for putting up with me spending ridiculous amounts of time on this project (not to mention the swank banner pictures above!) as well as apologies for anybody sitting next to me on the Boston/Providence commuter rail as I have spent many trips with two books, a couple stacks of paper and alot of elbowing to work on this.
