Philadelphia Eagles Mock Draft

1

DeWayne White

(Mock)

DE

6’3"

275

4.75

Louisville

White should be the only 1st round worthy DE available.  White is an excellent three-down DE.   Terry Pierce ILB also looked good here until he ran a 4.8 40. Because of their quality this year,  Kelley Washington WR may slip to the 30th pick. If one of the following is available, it could be the Eagles lucky day.  Others: Michael Haynes DE; Kelley Washington WR;  Jason Whitten TE .

1

Jerome McDougle (Drafted)

DE

6'2"

265

4.65

Miami

Philadelphia trades it 1st and one of its 2nd round picks to move up to the 15th spot in the first round.  Unlike most, I had McDougle rated the number one DE in the draft.  Also, unlike most I had the Eagles selecting a defensive end instead of a TE.  Grade A+

2

Tyrone Calico

WR

6’3"

220

4.3

Middle Tennessee

State

Although a raw talent, Tyrone has the speed and size that defenses will have trouble defending.

2

LJ Smith

TE

6'3"

258

4.65

Rutgers

It is doubtful that Dallas Clark will be available here.  LJ Smith may be just as good.

Others:  Bradie James LB; Tully-Banta Cain DE; Chuan Thompson LB; Calvin Pace DE; Kevin Curtis WR; Nick Barnett OLB.

Tyrone Calico was chosen in the selection before this one by Tennessee.

2

LJ Smith (Actual)

TE

6'3"

258

4.65

Rutgers

LJ is rawer than Witten or Clark but is faster and is a good value here.

Grade A

3

Kawika Mitchell

(Mock)

ILB

6’2"

250

4.65

South Florida

Kawika is an underrated heavy hitter with very good speed. Others: Angelo Crowell LB; Aaron Hunt DE; Matt Wilhelm ILB; Sam Aiken WR.

3

Billy McMullen (Actual)

WR

6'4"

210

4.6

Virginia

Poor man's Rod Gardner.  Andy wanted a big physical receiver.   His answer to defenses jumping the routes is to get a big receiver to outmuscle defenders instead of challenging them deep.  McMullen is a good possession receiver who may be used by the Eagle to give a Jumbo-look or in red zone plays.  But McMullen is slow.

Grade C

4

Wade Smith (Mock)

OG

6'3"

295

5.1

Memphis

If the Eagle do not take a WR higher in the draft then they will probably take one in the 4th.

Others: David Kircus WR; Visanthe Shiancoe TE; Ryan Hoag WR; Arnez Battle WR.

4

Jamaal Green (Actual)

DE

6'1"

270

4.75

Miami

A good pick for adding depth at DE.  Wade Smith, projected in the mock, went higher.

Grade B

5

Eddie Moore

(Mock)

OLB

6'0"

237

4.65

Tennessee

More needed depth at LB.

Others: RJ Luke TE; Hunter Hillenmeyer ILB; Shaun McDonald WR.

5

Jeremy Bridges (Actual)

G

6'4"

300

5.4

South Miss

Trying to get depth at OG.  Jeremy is slow and not very big.  The Eagles will keep their eyes open for backup help as Guards become Free Agents.

Grade D-

7

Travis Anglin (Mock)

WR

6'4"

210

4.5

Memphis

Tall possession receiver with good hands.

7

Norman LeJeune (Actual)

S

Louisiana

Tall safety.  Seems like a good athlete.
