Custom Contracting

Dave is the owner of Custom Contracting, and has been doing home repairs since 1971 when he was in college. He has become an all-around professional in all the areas of home and commercial remodeling. He's worked with many homeowners over the years, completing a variety of remodeling projects. "I enjoy working with families to help them improve their homes." When not hard at work, Dave enjoys spending time at his place at Lake Superior.

Brian is the snow removal and landscaping expert, working with his two brothers. "But when that is a little slow, I help out Dave. I enjoy it, since it gives me the opportunity to learn the how and the why to do things. But I really prefer to be outdoors as much as possible!"

Jeff has been involved in construction work for over twenty-nine years, and has been working with Dave for twelve of them. "Dave and I get along and we know what the other is good at. I enjoy all the work: new, remodel, commercial and residential." When not at work, Jeff is usually at the golf course, at the cabin, or hard at work with his hobby, water gardening.

John has been an electrician for twenty-three years and really likes it. "It's always different, especially remodeling. You have to think on your feet to handle all the little problems that come up. It makes the days go by fast." When not working, John enjoys fishing and, of course, being with his children.

Larry has been working with drywall for over twenty-two years, and has become as much as an expert in dealing with it as one can. "I enjoy working on older homes, remodeling and helping to improve them," he says. "Plus it allows me to work on my own house!" When not working Larry enjoys hunting and fishing.

Mark has been a plumber for over twenty years, and says he really happy with it. "Especially working on remodels. New construction sometimes becomes all the same work, without a lot of thinking needed. Remodeling is always different, making things work. That's the challenge, because sometimes people don't want to move. They've put down roots and want to stay put. We help them do that." When not at work, Mark enjoys golf, ice fishing, and being with his daughter.

Rick is our cabinet guy, working with Schreier Cabinet for over twenty years. Our clients have always been very happy with his work, and we're proud to have him on the team.

Steve of Steve's Drywall is the drywall expert, having been working with it for fifteen years. He knows all there is to know about taping and texturing walls and ceilings, and his pride in his work shows in all of our projects.
