The Clan Finley's descend from an ancient tribe (clan) who's past is synonymous with that of Scotland and Ireland. Most of the their history is lost in the mist of antiquity. But, what we do know is that our ancestors lived through times of struggle and lived and died by the sword. Like other descendants of the highlands of Scotland, the Finley's were Clannish, self-reliant and had the natural ability to blaze the trails of the early American frontier. Their love of liberty would cause them to become loyal to their new home and join General George Washington in the fight for independence during the American Revolution. |
